Kim Bum is #1 in Japan

Though he may have disappointed netizens in his native country, actor-turned-singer Kim Bum has been doing quite well on online music charts overseas in Japan.

His first single, Christmas Eve's Sky, has finally dominated the #1 position on J-pop charts since its release back in November. To show love for his fans, he flew over to Japan to commemorate the release of his first single and celebrate Christmas with his overseas supporters at a dinner show.

A representative from King Kong Entertainment stated,

"We were not expecting the single to even reach the number one position after its release. The results even surprised the officials! We would like to thank his fans and he will make sure to work hard in the future."

Kim Bum’s new movie is rated R

Kim Bum's new movie, Flight, has been claimed as a movie for an audience ages 19 and older. In America, it would be considered a rated R film.

The movie's production company said, "The rating system has decided children and teenagers can not see this movie. Because of this, all the fan girls of Kim Bum can not see the movie and they are very angry at us. They expected it to be a 15+ audience movie. We're very sorry because they've been waiting for this movie."

Since Kim Bum is such a heartthrob to teenagers, it's hard to believe he's in such an inappropriate movie. This movie hits theaters on December 3rd.a

Boys Over Flowers @Brokore Magazine

Although the Korean version of Boys Over Flowers ended a while ago in Korea, it seems to be gaining some steam in Japan.

KIM BUM BECAME A SINGER

Flower boy Kimbum is known for his good looks, sweet smile and good acting skills.

Recently the handsome actor is reported to show off his singing skill and will debut as a singer in Japan.

Kimbum will release his debut single album on Nov 8th,2009 in Osaka Fanmeeting. The 3 hours event will took place in Osaka-NHK Hall from 3.00 pm local time with estimated 1500 fans at the event.

It is also said that the debut single album will come together with Behind The Scenes DVD and pictures of Kimbum.

After the Fanmeeting, Kimbum will go to Tokyo to meet dozens of local media including TBS TV, before ending his 5 days 4 nights promotion.

KIM BUM AND KIM SO EUN ON BONJUK CALENDAR

Back in June, the popular couple, Kim Bum and Kim So Eun (So-Eul) from the hit drama Boys Over Flowers got together to endorse the rice porridge chain Bonjuk. Well it seems Bongjuk is offering an incentive for buying their food. At some of the participating Bonjuk's, if you spend over 15,000 won (around $11) you can receive a 2010 calendar featuring the So-Eul couple.

Kim Bum at fan signing event for Bonjuk’s 7th Anniversary

 

To commemorate Bonjuk's 7th year anniversary, they arranged for their CF model and actor, Kim Bum to have a fan signing session this morning, 12th September at their Myeondong outlet. 200 lucky customers turned up to get a signed Bonjuk poster, with Kim Bum's picture.

It was a shame that Kim So Eun, who is also Bonjuk's CF model, wasn't asked along for this event which would have made it hotter.

Kim Bum Changed After He Got Famous?

In a recent interview, Kim Bum revealed how he felt when people spread rumors that he changed after he got famous. Kim Bum has worked hard to get where he is now, he took on small roles in various TV shows and movies but his hard work paid off when he made it big after the show Boys Over Flowers. After Boys Over Flowers, Kim Bum was not only asked to be in new TV and movie projects but also many commercials. After becoming better known to the public, people spread rumors about Kim Bum saying he became arrogant when his popularity grew.

Kim Bum said,  

"I heard about the rumor and though I found it unfair, there must be a reason this rumor started. Smoke can't come out of a house without fire and I will try to understand why people are saying this about me. I acknowledge that this rumor did not come out of nowhere and I'll try to reflect on what might've started this rumor. I am not perfect and if I ever acted immature, cold-hearted, or rude, I want to say sorry."

Even though he apologized he still stated that it is a bit uncalled for for people to say that about him.  

 

"I don't like the fact that people who have never met me make up lies about me."

He expressed how hurt he was from this rumor.

No worries for Kim Bum since he still has many fans who support him. But it must be hard for celebrities to hear lies about them constantly. Especially the ones that make them look bad.

Life after Dreams

 

 

After his drama Dream, Kim Bum will put a stop to his activities in Korea and start preparing for overseas activities, one of which will be greeting his fans in Japan as a singer.

According to Kim Bum's management agency, "Kim Bum will be having fanmeetings in 5 Japanese cities (Osaka, etc) this coming December and will be performing 2 songs. One of the songs will be I'm Going to Meet You Now which was included in the F4 Special Album. The other song is currently being worked on."

As for Kim Bum's singing ability, his management agency said, "Kim Bum's singing is definitely on a par with professional singers. His popularity has been soaring in Japan because of Boys Over Flowers. We are hoping to use the opportunity to try and change him into a singer to further raise his popularity. There's a high possiblity of that happening after Kim Bum completes his five scheduled fanmeetings."

Besides his activities in Japan, Kim Bum will also be heading to England for a photoshoot after filming for Dream ends. Thereafter, Kim Bum will be volunteering in an activity to help needy orphans in the Philippines as well.

LOEN Entertainment diva Son Dambi is set to lock lips withKim Bum on the August 10th episode of the SBS dramaDream. The episode will be broadcast at 8:55AM (EST), so we'll be sure to update you with the kissy-kissy clip as soon as it comes out. But until then, you'll have to make do with these pictures:
